Practical Administration Guide

Pre-Administration Preparation

Prepare the animal and workspace

  • 12-hour fasting period
  • Remove anti-parasitic collar 24 hours prior
  • Prepare sterile syringes and needles
  • Ensure a calm environment

Premedication (15 minutes before)

Administer supportive medications

  • Diphenhydramine 1% – 10 mg/kg (antihistamine)
  • Atropine 0.1%: dogs – 0.1 mg/kg, cats – 0.05 mg/kg
  • Intramuscular or subcutaneous administration
  • Wait for onset of action (15 minutes)

Solution Preparation

Reconstitute the lyophilizate immediately before use

  • Take the vial with lyophilizate
  • Inject the full volume of diluent (5 mL)
  • Gently shake the vial
  • Ensure complete dissolution

Dosage Calculation

Calculate the dose based on animal weight and indication

  • 1 mL of reconstituted solution contains: 50 mg tiletamine + 50 mg zolazepam
  • Dosage depends on animal species
  • Consider the intended use
  • Do not exceed maximum dose

Administer the drug using aseptic technique

  • Intravenous or intramuscular injection

⚠️ Contraindications & Precautions

Absolute Contraindications:

  • Pancreatic disorders
  • Severe cardiovascular or respiratory impairment
  • Pregnancy and cesarean section
  • Hypertension

Special Precautions:

  • Reduce dose in animals with renal impairment
  • Do not use during lactation
  • Maximum dose: dogs 30 mg/kg, cats 72 mg/kg
  • Store reconstituted solution for max 10 days (2–8°C)
